michael_aos May 31 2004, 12:04 AM The matches at my local club typically include a bolt / manual-rifle side-match. I'm a beginner and I was advised to start with a Remington Model 700. I was also told the .260 Remington caliber is the way to go. Sounds simple enough -- except the only model 700's I'm seeing on the Remington web-page are in the "Mountain Rifle" (lightweight) category. LSS / DM models. That doesn't sound like a good choice for a long-range target gun. Or is it? What should I be looking at / for? I would have thought something more like a Model 700 VLS would be mor
