Here are the quick rules to Defensive Pistol
The goal of defensive Pistol is to try to bring as close to every day carry as we can. We encourage shooters to use their EDC gun and gear. Stages are geared around scenarios to build your skills with the firearm you carry and the equipment you use. The stages are set up to challenge you with accuracy and speed. With some mental challenge thrown in.
Safety Above all, Defensive Pistol competition must always be conducted with safety as its first priority. Basic firearms safety rules that must be adhered to at all times during DP competition:
- All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
- Never let the muzzle point at anything you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you have made the decision to fire.
- Identify your target and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything you have not positively identified.
We are using IDPA targets, scoring, down points, penalties and procedurals.
