What is Outlaw Steel?

This sport is very similar to Steel Challenge. If you're starting with a rimfire/PCC rifle, or rimfire pistol, you will start at low ready. For centerfire pistols, you're start loaded and holstered with your hands in the surrender position. At the beep, you'll engage 5 steel targets in any order, with one steel target painted a different color indicating it's the stop plate, meaning the plate you shoot last after shooting the other 4. You'll repeat this a total of 5 times with your worst time thrown out and the other four used to calculate your stage time.

Please note: calibers allowed are as follows: 22 long rifle, 9mm, .40 S&W, 45 ACP, 38 special. No bottleneck pistol cartridges, magnum pistol cartridges, or bottleneck rifle cartridges allowed.

This is one of the best ways to get into action shooting, as well as getting younger shooters started in action shooting.

All skill levels are welcome, and we always welcome new shooters!

This year will be a bit different from last year in that we're setting up the stages the day of the match. With 60+ shooters, this will literally take 20 minutes at most once all of the steel and equipment is dropped off.
