About the club from the club's website

MCSA was originally formed as the Shelton Rifle and Pistol Club in 1947. The Mason County area served by the club, was and still is, rural with forest products and seafood industries as major employers.

Initially, club efforts were focused on providing a safe firearms range away from the general public, yet available for the use by the community including the US Army, reserve organizations, sportsmen, and later, local law enforcement.
