SAPSA

SAPSA stands for St. Augustine Practical Shooting Association and is an officially sanctioned, USPSA affiliated shooting club.

SAPSA hosts a local USPSA sanctioned level 1 match once a month on the 3rd Saturday from 8am to about 1pm. We also do intro to action shooting classes and may have occasional offshoot matches or special events.

Our host range has 6 field stages and the match's a pproximate round count is 125 -180. Check-in starts at 8:00 and will end promptly at 9:00am. Shooters meeting will commence upon closing of registration and the match starts thereafter.

Match fees are paid the day of the match in cash during check-in.

A USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) match is where handgun and pistol caliber carbine (PCC) shooters gather to challenge their skills at a variety of courses of fire called stages. These stages of fire are predominantly “free-style” where the shooter solves the problem of shooting all the required targets in the fastest most efficient way. There typically are multiple paper targets, moving targets, reactive targets, penalty targets, partially covered targets, and steel targets. These are all engaged while safely navigating the timed course of fire. The scoring method is called “hit factor scoring” which balances both speed and accuracy.
