Deep 50 Gun Range

Long before it was a shooting range, this land in the Everglades was part of Southwest Florida’s frontier history.

Deep Lake Barron Collier’s town. The area was once part of Barron Collier’s town of Deep Lake, which later declined.

1950 Copeland prison opens. The Collier family donated the property to the State of Florida, and a prison was built here in Copeland.

2002 The facility closes. After more than 50 years and a long history, the prison finally closed.

Today Deep 50 Gun Range. The property is home to Naples’ largest private outdoor shooting range.

Help us tell the story. We’re still gathering photos and verifying events from the property’s past. If you have photos, documents or stories about Copeland or Deep Lake, we’d love to hear from you at info@deep50.com .

So awesome 👏 really great experience, will definitely come back some day when in town.

Outdoor shooting is different than the classic paper target- indoor place. This was very fun

I have been shooting for a long time and been to many a range, this place is top shelf. It is one of the best kept ranges by far. Matt does a great job maintaining this range!

What I really like about Deep 50 is that it’s a members-only range where safety comes first. I stopped going to public ranges because I often felt uneasy not knowing the experience or safety habits of the people shooting around me. At Deep 50, the members respect the range, the rules, and each other.

The entire facility is gated, secure, and extremely well maintained. You can tell they take pride in keeping the range clean, organized, and in excellent condition. Nobody is rushing you, so you can take your time and enjoy shooting in a safe, relaxed environment.

If you’re looking for a well-run, secure, members-only range that takes safety seriously, I highly recommend Deep 50.

This is my favorite range! Such a great and welcoming community as well! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!
